Wadsworth's Danielle Beltz Wins Prestigious National Student Leadership Award

Danielle Beltz, a fourth-year pharmacy student at Northeast Ohio Medical University has being selected for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Student Leadership Award. Beltz is one of only five recipients of the prestigious national award.

"Being an advocate for the patient and the pharmacy profession is a main focus for Danielle," said Charles Taylor, Pharm.D., vice president of academic affairs and dean of the College of Pharmacy. "She continually strives to bring awareness for issues that impact the profession and general population to not only the community but to legislators as well. Her leadership and kindness are attributes that make her an outstanding future pharmacist."

The ASHP Student Leadership Award Program recognizes students with an interest in pharmacy practice in health-systems who have demonstrated leadership ability. This program recognizes and celebrates the contributions of students who represent the very best attributes and accomplishments of ASHP student members. The award consists of an award plaque, an ASHP drug information reference library, and a $2,000 cash award provided by the ASHP Research and Education Foundation.
