Joseph Miladore Matched To Residency Program Following Graduation from Northeast Ohio Medical University

Joseph Miladore of Canfield, Ohio, will pursue General Surgery at St. Elizabeth Health System/NEOMED in Youngstown, Ohio, following graduation from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) this spring.

Miladore was one of 128 students from the College of Medicine's Class of 2015 who participated in national Match Day, March 20, where students from across the nation learned where they will continue their medical training in residency programs following graduation.

Fifty percent of the College of Medicine's graduating class will remain in Ohio for their residencies, 27 percent of which will remain in NEOMED's hospital partners, and 46 percent of graduates will continue their training in a primary care field such as family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics or obstetrics/gynecology.

Students began applying for residency programs at the beginning of their senior year and participated in interviews with hospital officials during the fall and winter months. Students indicated their residency preferences to the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), hospitals indicated their preference of students, and the NRMP matched the two.

Miladore is a graduate of Canfield High School and Youngstown State University.
