Caroline Stein Successfully Completed Northeast Ohio Medical University's MEDCAMP Program

2013 Jul 16

Caroline Stein, a student at Lakeview Middle School and resident of Warren, Ohio, was one of fifty students to recently attend and successfully complete the MEDCAMP program at Northeast Ohio Medical University July 11-13.

Now in its 23rd year, MEDCAMP is designed to stimulate students' interests in the basic sciences related to medicine and pharmacy, and to expose them to career opportunities in those fields.

Students took part in hands-on experiences in biomedical science workshops involving research, clinical problem-solving and an introduction to the fields of clinical medicine and pharmacy. They joined physicians, pharmacists, NEOMED students, faculty and researchers in performing applied activities, including taking blood pressures, reading EKGs, working in the pharmacy lab and identifying bacteria under a microscope.

Middle school students from across Northeast Ohio applied to take part in the three-day program. To learn more about MEDCAMP, visit www.neomed.edu/medcamp.
